MTSU FALL HONORS LECTURE SERIES RECRUITING STUDENTS

(MURFREESBORO) — First-year University Honors College Dean John Vile wants students attending MTSU this fall to know about one of the best-kept secrets on campus: the Honors Lecture Series.
It’s a one-hour pass/fail class, UH 3000, that many students may not know about.
“The lecture series is an easy way for someone to test out our honors
program,” Vile said. “Any entering freshman with a 3.5 GPA from high school and a 25 or better on the ACT may enroll. Any returning students with a 3.25 GPA or higher may enroll. There is no requirement that students be pursuing an honors degree or be enrolled in any other honors classes.”
This fall, the class is offered from 3 until 3:55 p.m. every Monday except Sept. 1 for the Labor Day holiday and Oct. 13 (fall break). Classes are held in Room 106 of the Paul W. Martin Sr. Honors Building.
This semester, students can learn all facets of the election process as the series is titled “Politics and the Press: The Relationship Between Government and the Fourth Estate.”
