Career Development Center to Hold Spring Career Fair Events

(MURFREESBORO) — The MTSU Career Development Center will hold an Internships Fair from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, in the James Union Building’s Tennessee Room.
At the Internships Fair, students will network with corporate, governmental and non-profit employers recruiting summer and fall interns, said Bill Fletcher, Career Development Center director.
In a competitive job market, internships can give candidates an edge over their competitors, Fletcher added.
From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, MTSU will partner with 15 other area universities to host the Nashville Area College to Career Fair and Nashville Area Teacher Recruitment Fair at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville, with employers recruiting for various full-time, degreed positions.
This event is only open to juniors, seniors, graduate students and alumni of the 16 consortium schools, and a ticket is required, Fletcher said.
Tickets are available at the Career Development Center in Keathley University Center Room 328.
From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, employers from all industries will recruit seasonal employees at the Summer Jobs Fair, which will be held in the JUB Tennessee Room.
Many students take advantage of these non-degreed positions to supplement scholarships and/or replace loans, Fletcher said.
Additional fairs will be held in the fields of aerospace, agribusiness, criminal justice/social services and sales/marketing. For more information, please visit www.mtsu.edu/~career/fairs.htm.
