Career Center’s Oct. 7 Workshop Helps Students Prepare for Fair Experience

(MURFREESBORO) — The MTSU Career Development Center will serve as host to the 2010 Fall Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the track level of Murphy Center, event organizers said.
The career fair will feature employers recruiting for internship and full-time positions. Graduate and professional schools also will be available to discuss educational opportunities.
The fair is open to current MTSU students and alumni. Attendees need to bring proof of their MTSU education and are expected to dress professionally and bring several copies of their resumes.
This year, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network is sponsoring the fair.
In advance of the Fall Career Fair, the Career Development Center will offer a workshop on how students can make the most of the Career Fair experience. The workshop will feature tips and suggestions for making introductions, networking with employers and making a student’s career materials stand out.
“How to Work a Career Fair” will take place on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m. in Keathley University Center Room 316. Students must RSVP for the workshop by accessing their Lightning JobSource account. Students may register for a free account to Lightning JobSource, the Career Development Center’s online job recruitment system, by visiting www.mtsu.edu/career.
A complete list of Fall Career Fair participants can be accessed by visiting the Career Development Center’s website at www.mtsu/career.
