[097] Sept. 17 MTSU panel discussion focuses on feminism, academic research

MURFREESBORO — The impact of the feminist movement on research in higher education will be the topic of a free panel discussion at MTSU.

Clare Bratten, a professor of electronic media communication, will moderate “Feminist Ethics and Research,” to kick off the fall 2015 Women’s and Gender Studies Research Series at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Room 100 of the James Union Building.

Vicky MacLean, interim director of the series and a professor of sociology, will be one of the panelists. Her areas of expertise include social and feminist theory and women’s and minority health.

Joining her will be Jackie Eller, interim vice provost for research and dean of the College of Graduate Studies, whose academic specialties include sex and gender, and Ida Fadzillah, an associate professor of anthropology, whose research arenas include urban anthropology and globalization.
