[332] MTSU, City to hold Feb. 18 community meeting about MT Blvd. project

MURFREESBORO — The city of Murfreesboro and MTSU will host a public meeting this week to discuss the ongoing Middle Tennessee Boulevard widening upgrade.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at the MT Center inside the Sam H. Ingram Building at the corner of Middle Tennessee Boulevard and Lytle Street.

Designated parking will be available via the Lytle Street entrance. A searchable campus parking map is available at http://tinyurl.com/MTSUParkingMap.

The 30-month, $15.7 million project will improve the .8-mile section of the thoroughfare between East Main and Greenland Drive. Traffic flow and campus parking will be impacted throughout the construction process.

At the meeting, the project manager and city engineers will review the planned improvements, which include divided medians with landscaping, new bike lanes and pedestrian crossings, as well as all underground utilities and other upgrades.

Residents will be able to ask questions and share comments about the project, which is expected to be completed by fall 2018.

The city will share project updates through an interactive online map at www.murfreesborotn.gov/mtb.
