[338] MTSU business students encouraged to bring 'BEST' to March 21 speed networking event

Students looking for an opportunity to present themselves to employers face to face soon will be able to at an upcoming career fair on MTSU’s campus.
The Business Exchange for Student Talent, also known as BEST, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the Student Union Ballroom and is open to all Jones College of Businessmajors.
The career fair sponsored by the departments of Managementand Marketingin the Jones College of Business is a "speed networking" career event for students interested in receiving either full-time positions or internships.
"Wear business professional," said Laura Buckner, an instructor and internship coordinator in the Department of Marketing. "The purpose of this fair is for students to establish a professional network and to find internship and full-time opportunities."
Over 50 employers set to attend will have 15 minutes to speak in small groups with students, explaining what opportunities they have. Students will then showcase what they can bring to each specific company of their choosing before moving on to the next table.
Buckner encourages students to bring multiple copies of their resumes and research the companies prior to attending the event.
This fair is put on by the IGNITE committee, a professional development program designed to increase awareness of career preparation issues, develop knowledge and skills to navigate the process of landing a professional entry level job.
